10 Best WWE Matches Of 2016
5. Fatal-4-Way For The WWE Universal Title (Raw, 29 August)
On the subject of Seth Rollins, 'The Architect' has been pursuing Triple H lately on Raw. This Fatal-4-Way from the 29 August episode of the show is precisely why. Triple H ended up turning his back on Rollins, meaning Kevin Owens left the broadcast as the new WWE Universal Champion.
Joining Rollins and Owens in the match were Roman Reigns and Big Cass. The match had been necessitated by an injury to Finn Bálor at SummerSlam. Even though he won the title by beating Rollins, the Irishman was sadly forced to vacate the title on Raw just 24 hours later.
The circumstances were hardly ideal for WWE. Thankfully, the quartet they picked to enter this Fatal-4-Way made the most of a bad situation, packing a lot of content into the 25-minute match and leaving the live audience enthralled by what they were seeing.
Undoubtedly one of the best Raw (or non-pay-per-view in general) matches of WWE's year, the fact KO was crowned the new champion was just the cherry on top of the proverbial cake.
