10 Best WWE Matches Of 2019 (So Far)

2. Men's Elimination Chamber Match (Elimination Chamber)

WWE WrestleMania 35 Daniel Bryan Kofi Kingston

A pivotal stop on Kofi Kingston's road to WrestleMania 35, the 2019 men's bout deserves to go down as an all-time great execution of the tricky Elimination Chamber format.

Every single participant had at least one moment in the spotlight. Even Samoa Joe, who was eliminated first, got to look like a beast, with him and WWE Champion Daniel Bryan beating seven shades of sh*t out of each other. Jeff Hardy was given his big dive, AJ Styles was his usual sublime self (particularly on that Tower Of Doom), and the oft-derided Randy Orton was predatory, with his midair RKO on 'The Phenomenal One' popping the white-hot crowd.

The closing stretch is what this match will ultimately be remembered for, and understandably so. Houston was molten for Bryan vs. Kingston. They were beyond desperate for the New Day man to score the victory and take the WWE Championship, and every near-fall escalated the drama. A lengthy series of heart-stopping moments left fans utterly convinced that Kofi's triumph as nigh, enhancing the sinking feeling when Bryan eventually put him away, nailing his opponent with a concussive running knee for the 1-2-3.
