It’s a shame that the 2015 Royal Rumble will always be remembered for Roman Reigns getting jeered out the building above all else, because it also featured one of the best WWE Title matches in recent history. Brock Lesnar defended his strap against John Cena and Seth Rollins in the night’s biggest singles match, and it was an all-out war, with all three emerging stronger than before.

Lesnar was at his absolute best at the time. Having obliterated Cena at SummerSlam a few months prior, he looked close to unstoppable, and John played his resilient babyface foil. Rollins, meanwhile, was the cocky young upstart who soon discovered he was way out of his depth, but kept fighting regardless, and almost stole the victory while Lesnar was laid-out on the crushed Spanish announce table.

The crowd maintained a red-hot atmosphere throughout, jeering the supposed good guy, while going nuts for his two heel opponents. In the end, Brock’s domination shone through as he survived two shots with the Money In The Bank briefcase to end Rollins with an F5. Lesnar was the victor, but Seth, in the biggest fight of his career thus far, played a perfect ragdoll throughout, and emerged as the match’s biggest star.
