3. Finlay Vs. Chris Benoit - Smackdown November 24th 2006
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x25wch_smackdown-24-11-2006-chris-benoit-v_sport Finlay shocked the wrestling world when he announced his plans to make a comeback to the squared circle at the age of 48. The Irishman was forced to retire in 2000 following a nasty incident during a hardcore house show match with Brian Knobbs in which the shards of a table badly cut open his leg and damaged the nerves. In the interim, Finlay had been working behind-the-scenes in WWE, acting as a road agent/producer and helping to train the WWE's divas (including Trish Stratus). But he yearned to be in front of an audience once more and began training hard. He made his debut in January 2006, beating Matt Hardy on Smackdown. It didn't take the powers-that-be long to figure out that Finlay still had a lot left in the tank. Better than that, he was quite clearly one of Smackdown's top workers and proved instrumental in the development of Lashley, Batista and others. Finlay also had some absolute blinders against one of his favourite opponents, Chris Benoit. The two grizzled veterans clashed many times on TV and PPV in 2006/07 (they had a cracker at Judgement Day 2006) and the results were always great. Their match on the November 24th 2006 Smackdown, emanating from the Nassau Coliseum, was no different.
