10 Best WWE Matches That Ever Happened At Nassau Colliseum
4. The Rock Vs. Brock Lesnar - SummerSlam 2002
Yes, it's another match from SummerSlam 2002 and, yes, it's another match featuring The Rock. The People's Champion has a good record at the Nassau Coliseum and at SummerSlam so it makes sense that his top-liner with The Next Big Thing in 2002 would be a barnstormer. Lesnar was seen as the next great hope by WWE when he debuted properly (after working months of dark matches) in April. Brock was a quick learner and didn't look out of place against established stars, but there were still those who were unsure as to whether he was ready to headline. The Beast answered his critics with an incredible performance at SummerSlam. The build to the match had been good, with WWE opting for a more sporting feel with Rocky style training vignettes and such and the match didn't disappoint. Upset with his impending exit for Hollywood, some of the Nassau crowd even booed consummate babyface Rock. Credit must be given to The Rock, who did everything he could to make the rookie Lesnar look like a monster. He did the right thing by taking the loss clean in the middle.
