10 Best WWE Matches That Happened Outside America

4. Bret Hart V Undertaker - One Night Only

One Night Only came out of the NEC Arena in Birmingham and was promoted as a real one-off special event that was only available to view at the time in the United Kingdom and Canada. It also went down as one of the best cards that WWF put on internationally at the time, with critics praising the in-ring action - especially in the top two matches.

For the second time in UK pay-per-view history, the WWF title was not in the main event as Shawn Michaels and the British Bulldog contested the European title in the final match of the card. Before that, Bret Hart put his recently won title on the line in a rematch from SummerSlam against The Undertaker.

Coming off the back of a controversial finish as guest referee HBK levelled The Undertaker with a chair costing him the belt, The Deadman was out for revenge and was hugely over with the Birmingham crowd. The in-ring action between the two was solid and made viewers wonder if these two could have had a longer feud at some point, but was also Bret’s last pay-per-view title defence ahead of the Montreal screw job. Little did anyone know what would come to pass two months later. A high calibre match that US audiences had to find on VHS that is worthy of anyone’s time.
