"We want Lesnar!" were the chants that had rung through the arena for most of the night after rumours of his possible return had been circulating since before WrestleMania. The fans were clamouring for their man so hard, Cena couldn't even manage to divert attention to THE ROCK!

Brock had always been a story of what could have been. After breaking through in 2002 and becoming (at the time) the youngest WWE Champion in history, he seemed destined for greatness... That is until he decided that the road life wasn't for him and you know what? He didn't actually like wrestling all that much.

It was a slap in the face to the fans when he left in 2004, especially with that abomination of a match with Goldberg at WrestleMania XX being his last. Did any of that matter on 2nd April 2012, eight years after he had walked out of the door? To quote a famous movie...absolutely f*cking not!

The roof exploded off the joint at the sound of his music, and to make it even sweeter, he made a beeline for John Cena. People couldn't believe their eyes. One fan got so excited that he became quasi-famous just from his reaction. People were excited because after conquering the UFC and becoming their heavyweight champion, Brock was about to legitimise professional wrestling like nobody had before. People couldn't wait to see him deliver realistic beatdowns on the roster.

Of course, this being WWE, the momentum was wasted by having him lose to Cena in his first match and he wouldn't actually be booked properly until he broke The Undertaker's undefeated streak at WrestleMania XXX in 2014. Still though, this moment was a huge driving force for fans around the world to get excited about what Brock was going to do.
