10 Best WWE Money In The Bank PPV Matches (That Aren't MITB)

4. Seth Rollins Vs. Roman Reigns - Money In The Bank 2016

Orton Christian Money In The Bank 2011
WWE Network

This was a match with history behind it: former tag partners turned bitter enemies who never got to fight in the same way Ambrose and Rollins did.

Roman was booed no matter what he did, while Seth got cheers for being evil. Roman's Mania moment was taken forcibly by Seth, and Seth was rewarded with adoration, while Roman crept to the back rejected by so many of the fans he'd fought so hard to entertain. Even Roman's first world title win came not from Seth, but the spot he left behind.

It would have been cathartic narratively regardless of the victor, even if many fans would have howled if Roman retained against the returning golden boy. The match had this loftiness to it, a main event that earned its position and both men showed that their chemistry as partners carried over as opponents. Roman, in particular, got to display his powerful offense, hitting devastating powerbombs and a brutal Spear. They paced the contest perfectly and were compelling from the start while constantly escalating.

The catharsis from Rollins taking his title transitions into another beautiful moment as Dean Ambrose cashes in his MITB, and finally pins his eternal rival, holding the World Title over his head. A flawless moment.
