9. Charlotte (c) Vs. Sasha Banks Vs. Bayley Vs. Becky Lynch - TakeOver: Rival
You might want to get used to seeing Sasha Banks and various opponents on this list, for The Boss has had an absolutely incredible year in NXT. TakeOver: Rival was the first TakeOver event of the year, and what a show it was. Going in to the event Charlotte was the reigning NXT Women's Champion, and had held the strap for a whopping 258 days. Nobody had been able to dethrone the champion in a one on one environment, and it seemed like Ms. Flair would hold the title until she decided she didn't want it anymore. Her three cohorts in what would become informally known as the Four Horsewomen challenged at Rival, and the four ladies put on one hell of a show. Four ways can often be a little clumsy, but the four put together a fine match here that was propelled to new heights because of the character work displayed within. Charlotte was the dominating champion, Lynch was the upstart who many underestimated and Bayley finally showed some bite to go with her nicer-than-nice character. Banks was the star of the show however, especially when it came to the emotion displayed in her face throughout. Sasha would come out on top and finally reach the top of the female mountain in NXT.
