The Evolution PPV in 2018 received universal critical acclaim from almost everyone in the wrestling world. The pay-per-view was the first women's-only in WWE history, and many fans were so impressed with the event that there has been a demand for an Evolution II ever since.

The show featured two top matches. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair had one of the greatest women's matches of all time as the paid had a Last Man Standing Match for the SmackDown Women's Title. The match would solidify Lynch as one of the top talents in the entire company thanks to another star-making performance from The Man. Meanwhile, in the main event, Ronda Rousey successfully defended her RAW Women's Title against Nikki Bella in a match that attained a lot of casual interest and the match itself is actually incredibly underrated.

The rest of the card featured the Mae Young Classic finals as Toni Storm defeated future NXT Women's Champion Io Shirai. Additional matches included Shayna Baszler facing Kairi Sane for the NXT Women's Title. Plus the return of Trish Stratus and Lita who teamed together to face the duo of Alicia Fox and Mickie James in the event's opening encounter.
