10 Best WWE PPV Matches That Ever Happened In September

10. The Rock Vs. Ken Shamrock Vs. Mankind - Steel Cage For WWE Title No. 1 Contendership (In Your House: Breakdown 1998)

It's a match that was a lot of fun to watch because you had The Rock as an ascending star that was getting over really big. This was right after his major SummerSlam ladder match with Triple H and two months before his corporate heel turn at Survivor Series. Mankind was also getting love from the fans while Shamrock had a long feud with Rock, so it was smart to involve him too. They had exciting match where Rock was cheered for everything he did, hated anything that Shamrock did even though he was a face and were supportive of everything Mankind did too. There were so many cool moments like when Mankind missed an elbow off the top of the steel cage and it was shot from the perfect angle. The finish of the match was something that put over Rock for being a smart guy while Mankind was a fool. Mankind knocked out Shamrock with a steel chair. A really stiff chair shot. Instead of pinning him, he tried to climb over the cage and that allowed Rock to cover Shamrock to win. I was at this show. It wasn't a great show from top to bottom, but this match was so memorable and is one of my favorite live experiences after going to shows for 25 years.
