4. The Dual Japanese Royal Rumble Wins

When WWE signed Asuka in 2015 and Shinsuke Nakamura in 2016, nobody could have predicted that they'd win Royal Rumble matches on the same night by 2018. Scratch that, because even the notion of a female Rumble match seemed inconceivable back then.

Again, creative have struggled to top what they achieved in January. Neither Asuka or Nakamura went on to win titles post-Rumble victory, but that doesn't mean the sight of back-to-back Japanese wins in Philadelphia can't be considered a landmark moment.

This was a love letter to anyone who has enjoyed Japanese pro wrestling over the past decade, and it's amazing it happened under the McMahon umbrella at all.

Naka and Asuka seemed genuinely overcome by the fact WWE had chosen them to their respective Rumbles. It was a career-defining moment for both, and one Shinsuke (in particular) would remarkably top when he cashed in his right to challenge for the WWE Title.
