The bubble had to burst at some point for Asuka following 914 consecutive days unbeaten in WWE. There was no better woman WWE could have chosen to topple that winning run than Charlotte Flair, and that's evidenced by the stunning match she and Asuka worked at WrestleMania 34.

There was enormous gravitas to the moment, something no other women's match in 'Mania history (possibly with the exception of that Triple Threat from WrestleMania 32) has had. This, a singles match that showed talents like Flair and Asuka were more than capable of headlining WWE's biggest annual show, was history in the making.

A tear-filled hug between both women also sold what it meant to them afterwards.

No, WWE haven't been able to follow up on Asuka's loss or get her back on track, and Flair's babyface run is tepid at best, but this match harked back to the latter's glory days opposite Sasha Banks. Next year, it'd be nice to see WWE go one step further and give their women top billing. They deserve it.
