7. Happy? - Mudvayne (Vengeance 2005)

Vengeance 2005 is remembered as one of highest calibre events of the time. Triple H’s stranglehold on the RAW brand was being loosened and the card was stacked with marquee names.

With such pedigree (sorry!) surrounding the event, you might be under the impression that no matter what WWE used as a theme, it would be remembered well. More often than not the exact opposite is true and a bad theme can stick out like a musical stain on an otherwise pristine canvas.

In the case of Vengeance 2005, WWE managed to find the perfect choice with the gritty, puffed-cheek inducing Happy? by Mudvayne.

The song’s razor sharp edge and dark undertones gave the event a visceral atmosphere that helped sell the prospect of the Hell in a Cell Main Event between Triple H and Batista.

It is a rebellious and erratic piece with self-loathing coated verses followed by a roaring chorus of anger and resentment. Hard hitting and snarling with every word, the song was the perfect backdrop to the intense, heated rivalries that the card was built upon.

If you haven’t seen the event already, go enjoy a great show punctuated by an amazing theme.
