10 Best WWE References In Rap Music

1. "Roll Call" By Joe Budden

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gT2y9wGlhPQ Lyric: "Now, it's ridiculous/All this s**t's frivolous/N****s ain't Macho Man, they Miss Elizabeth" Joe Budden is what's known as a battle rapper. To be a successful battle rapper, your bars and punchlines have to be as vivid as possible. You need to get your words stuck in people's minds right away to sway the fan vote. The boasts are bigger and more exaggerated and the jokes are more over-the-top. Your lines have to be more memorable. In an attempt to point out how "soft" rap has become, Budden uses a wrestling analogy that every fan will understand immediately. While everyone feels that they're the big, bad Macho Man, in actuality they're nothing more than the overly feminine Miss Elizabeth. Budden was able to take the wrestling couple who has the biggest difference in look and personalities, and he was able to accurately turn them into a hip-hop punchline without any problem. It's stunningly simple in its execution but perhaps equally as stunning in its effectiveness.
