10 Best WWE Returns Of 2019 (So Far)
6. Batista - Raw (25 February 2019)
Throughout his lengthy WWE tenure, Batista has seen his fair share of major returns, many of which were full of the grandeur and fanfare that a superstar as iconic as 'The Animal' deserved. That said, what made his return earlier this year all the more effective was that there was absolutely none of that.
Taking place in the backstage area, Big Dave attacked Ric Flair before he could arrive at his 70th birthday celebration. He then dragged the Hall Of Famer's unconscious body into view in what was all part of a desperate bid to get Triple H's attention and ultimately provoke him into giving him what he always wanted - one final match between the pair at WrestleMania.
A vast portion of the WWE Universe was aware of the fact that Batista had always wanted to end his career in a match against 'The Game', so this added a welcome dose of realism to the feud. Moreover, given both men's attachment to Ric Flair, the violent attack was a great method of making things personal from the very beginning - something that undoubtedly increased excitement for their huge clash.
If only that match could have lived up to expectations...
