10 Best WWE Returns Of The Decade
2. The Undertaker - Battleground 2015
Once upon a time, it seemed like we'd never see The Undertaker get the chance to avenge the loss of his Streak after that trainwreck of a match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX. That's because we weren't even sure if we'd ever see him set foot in the ring ever again. And yet, even when he returned to action at the following year's 'Mania, it was to face Bray Wyatt - not Lesnar.
His unexpected comeback at Battleground 2015 caught the entire WWE Universe off-guard, as he attacked his old foe with a Chokeslam and two Tombstones, costing him the WWE Championship. Vengeful, vindictive and powerful, he looked much healthier than he had in years and that moment alone made him seem like a legitimate threat to 'The Beast' once again.
What made it even more jaw-dropping was the fact that Lesnar had been booked in the face role during his match with Seth Rollins, meaning that the majority of the WWE Universe actually wanted him to win. But that went out the window as soon as 'Taker showed up, as a year and a half of Lesnar and Heyman's mocking had finally caught up with them and everyone lost their freakin' minds.
The Undertaker of old had returned for revenge and, as always, he got exactly what he wanted.
