NWA legend Ric Flair was well into his 40s when he finally began working for Vince McMahon's WWF in 1991. He arrived, after a spell in early WCW, with a reputation for being one of the industry's most accomplished performers, and his new employers wasted little time in positioning him at the very top of their show.

It took Flair just a few months to claim his first WWE Championship when he beat 29 others to win the Royal Rumble. From there, he went on to face Randy Savage in one of WrestleMania VIII's headline matches, before teaming up with Razor Ramon to take on Randy Savage and Mr Perfect in a star-studded Survivor Series tag bout. You wouldn't have expected anything less, given the man's enormous profile, but it was still a hugely productive first twelve months.
