10 Best WWE Shows That Don't Exist Anymore

9. Shotgun Saturday Night

When Shotgun Saturday Night first showed up on TV schedules in January, 1997, it was unlike anything the then-WWF had ever aired before. Coming across as a more adult-oriented show, Shotgun was held in a dingy, nightclub-style atmosphere, and was a complete departure from regular shows like Superstars and Monday Night Raw. The WWF of '97 was still a kid-friendly product, the 'Attitude' Era hadn't quite happened yet. Shotgun gave a taste of things to come, due to the course language, sexual references and altogether more violent tone. After only a few weeks of the original format, the show degenerated into little more than another recap show for Raw, with occasional matches. Nonetheless, the initial run of 6 weeks has become infamous to pro wrestling fans. Shotgun Saturday Night was a complete anomaly in the company, but intriguingly gave some indication over where Vince McMahon wanted to take things. The latter portion of the show's run is hardly memorable, but the start was special.
