4. JBL Vs. Eddie Guerrero - Cage Match, July 15 2004

A lot of fans and industry folk didn't agree with the decision to take the WWE Title off of the waist of Eddie Guerrero at the 2004 Great American Bash, not six months after he won it from Brock Lesnar. Even fewer agreed with the choice of his successor, JBL.

A career midcarder to that point, people doubted Bradshaw's ability to carry top-line fueds and matches. To be fair to him, despite some unnecessary cheap heat tactics, he managed to look like he belonged in his initial feud with Latino Heat. Their bloodbath at Judgement Day was an epic, their Bullrope Match at the Bash above average and, weeks later, their cage match main event on Smackdown delivered, too.

A good, old school style match full of hatred, it is perhaps most famous for Guerrero's Frog Splash off the top which, somehow, didn't get him the all-important victory. No, JBL managed to slither away with the strap after interference form Kurt Angle (disguised as 'El Gran Luchador').

Another cheap finish for the purposes of advancing storylines, but another exhausting effort where both guys laid everything on the line and worked their a**es off for the fans.
