Time for some 'Taker tales.

When he first joined the WWF and started playing his new gimmick, The Undertaker found himself fighting natural urges to bump, move quickly and show he could work his ass off. He'd become so used to that in WCW that it was alien to do anything else, and he found the process "agonising" at first.

He admitted to Austin that it took him a good year before he was comfortable as the slow-moving zombie 'Deadman' fans came to know and love. The frustrating thing for him personally was that he couldn't shine like others inside the ring; 'Taker would watch his co-workers bump around jealously. He wanted to do that too.

Later, he'd thank himself for showing restraint. When the time came to mix things up and add some speed to his skill set in the mid-90s, The Undertaker realised that he could drip-feed moves he'd always wanted to use. That helped keep him fresh beyond the gimmick's original shelf life.
