2015's August supercard became one the first notable victims of WWE's Network-era super-service model, in which fans are given more than they can possibly manage in an effort to ensure that subscribers (their new regularly-paying customer in place of a once-loyal pay-per-view core) are broadly satisfied with their monthly investment.

Subsequently, though almost entirely forgettable in many key aspects, the lengthy parade of matches and moments over the whopping 215 minutes gift the show pride of place over some more memorable spectacles.

Wrestlers so often complain about not having enough time to tell their requisite stories, but at this show, just about everybody got more than they needed. Sheamus and Randy Orton, Dolph Ziggler and Rusev and Kevin Owens and Cesaro all got well over ten minutes for their listless midcard outings, when half the time probably would have sufficed.

That's not to harshly treat the event. Seth Rollins and John Cena had an excellent 'Winner Takes All' match for their WWE and US Titles respectively, though a finish involving criminally telegraphed interference from American chat king Jon Stewart dampened enthusiasm for 'The Architect's historic achievement. And an encouraging nine woman trios match had problems, but did at least show commitment to the 'Divas Revolution' from WWE at a time where the company still could have made an about-face.
