4. The Warriors - Ultimate Warrior, Texas Tornado & Legion Of Doom (Survivor Series 1990)
In 1990, Survivor Series was in its 4th year and the concept was maximizing its potential. WWF had to up the ante by creating a Winner Take All Survival Match at the end of the night for all winning faces and heels. In the first match of the night, we saw one of the most spectacular teams ever assembled, The Warriors. Despite being known as The Legion Of Doom, The Road Warriors teamed with Kerry Von Erich (who at one time went by The Modern Day Warrior) and the WWF Champion The Ultimate Warrior. The level of charisma was off the charts, with arguably the most popular tag team of all time, supernova that was the Ultimate Warrior and the Intercontinental ChampionThe Texas Tornado. Conversely, they didnt make it through their match unscathed. The Ultimate Warrior was the sole survivor against a team made up of Mr. Perfect and Demolition. Everyone couldnt advance to the final battle of survival. In retrospect, this is pretty much the 1990 version of Hulk Hogans 1989 Hulkamaniacs team. Evidenced by the world champion (Hogan/Warrior), with a largely popular tag team (LOD/Demolition, and a revered mid-card face (Jake/Von Erich). This list would be incomplete without The Warriors.
