Ignoring the interference that blighted the conclusion and condemned Finn Bálor to month after torturous month feuding with Bray Wyatt, the triple threat between 'The Demon', 'The Architect' and 'The A-Lister' to determine a Number One contender to Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose was a relentless masterclass befitting of three men in line to win the 'Workers Belt'.

An exhibition of skilful character work from the trio early on after Miz played spectator to luscious Bálor and Rollins mat-wrestling sequences, the action heated up when the babyfaces cornered and conquered the sly heel.

With Miz partially despatched, Seth and Finn quickened the contest with believable will to win until the match broke down into an eyes-in-the-back-of-the-head brawl. Pinfall and submission attempts were thwarted at an astonishing clip, without the crutch of giving at least one performer the requisite rest.

Each man took turns teeing off on the other two, with Miz' 'It' kicks on both followed quickly by Finn flying at his foes with kicks as they stood prone in and out of the ring.

Dispelling the myth of his limited in-ring ability as the contest appeared to near the climax, Miz' timing on infuriatingly close kick-outs was as deft his knack for interrupting those between the heroes that didn't involve him.
