So it transpires that a man who'll likely never wrestle for WWE again finished the year with the company's best win/loss record. Arrested on suspicion of battery and kidnapping/false imprisonment, WWE's 'zero tolerance' policy means we've probably seen the last of Rich Swann, who started the year at the height of his powers, and finished it in disgrace.

Swann was Cruiserweight Champion as the calendar flipped to 2017, and began with a couple of strong victories over Noam Dar and Tony Nese. He then dropped the belt to Neville at the Royal Rumble, and failed in his rematch the following month, but only dropped a handful of singles bouts throughout the rest of the year.

Outside of his Cruiserweight Title run, Swann's biggest moments came through his feud with Noam Dar. He and Sasha Banks teamed to face the Scot and Alicia Fox at Extreme Rules 2017, thus placing Rich in the biggest spotlight he'd enjoyed all year, but aligning with 'The Boss' didn't result in a lasting rub. Swann was soon cycled back down to the same level as every other 205 Live contender, and now looks set to spend the rest of his career on the indies.
