9. WrestleMania IV

Another night of gruelling action, another debut world title win for a beloved star.

WrestleMania IV was unique, as it was structured around a single tournament to crown a new WWF Champion.

The field of challengers was eventually thinned out, leaving two men - "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase and "Macho Man" Randy Savage - to fight for the top prize.

Whilst the match wasn't a classic, it told the perfect wrestling story. DiBiase had had an easy route to the finals, whilst Savage fought and clawed his way to the championship match. DiBiase was the evil heel who had previously screwed Hulk Hogan out of the title, whilst Savage was the noble face, searching for his first ever world championship.

The bout was jam-packed with outside interference, as Hogan and Andre The Giant battled to protected their respective interests in the match.

Eventually, Savage executed a Flying Elbow on DiBiase to get the win and the gold. He celebrated with Miss Elizabeth and Hogan, who, of course, did his best to steal as much of the spotlight as possible.

We never said it was a perfect ending.
