10 Best WWE Wrestlers Of 2016 (So Far)
1. AJ Styles
The only Superstar able to eclipse Roman Reigns' work in 2016 is AJ Styles, who exploded onto the scene in January at the Royal Rumble and wasted little time proving to the world that he is the best wrestlers on the planet.
After years spent in TNA, Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling, he entered the 30-man war and instantly left an impression on fans. From there, he entered a rivalry with Chris Jericho that saw the celebrated in-ring competitors trade wins in matches that were extremely good but never quite made it to the level that most expected.
Any concern over his ability to thrive under the bright lights and on the big stage in WWE were erased when he won a Fatal 4-Way match against Jericho, Cesaro and Kevin Owens that was a suitable followup to the previous night's WrestleMania and catapulted Styles into the main event scene.
Two outstanding pay-per-view battles with Roman Reigns proved his worth to the company, who admittedly changed their perceptions in regards to Styles' place in it. No longer did it see him as a Superstar capable of carrying the midard like the aforementioned Cesaro or Sami Zayn. Instead, it recognized his greatness and added him to the main event scene on a more permanent basis.
His recent showing against John Cena at Money in the Bank solidified his status as one of the best big-match performers in the business and set the stage for a series of rematches that should earn him a spot at or near the top of this list come December.
