10 Best WWE Wrestlers Of 2017

2. The Miz

Though the polar opposite of a castaway, The Miz exists on his own island in 2017. With over a decade of experience in WWE as it philosophically navigated through drastically changing times, he’s now more polished than much of a roster that once literally wouldn’t have welcomed him in a locker room.

An established and believable pro with a microphone, ‘The A-Lister’ has blossomed in confidence between the ropes since a 2016 post-WrestleMania liberation of the Intercontinental Title. And it’s the gumption rather than skill that makes him such a vital performer in the modern age.

Excellent professional wrestling is almost the norm in the post-Performance Center world. Ironically, in finally embracing a sense of diversity, WWE has homogenised the very act of the ‘good’ match. Unless in the ring with super-worker, The Miz’ contests don’t promise Omega-level snowflakes, but instead a hailstorm of intensity as one of the truly great heels in the game. He lack of technical dexterity instead becomes the stick audiences use to beat him with - and he gleefully throws the stick back in their face.

It’s no coincidence that for just under two years, he’s been in complete control of the Intercontinental Title. It’s the ‘worker’s belt’, after all, and he’s the best the company has.
