As a member of the aptly named Team Xtreme, Lita and the Hardy Boyz lived up to the moniker. Lita was on-hand to support the tag-team by launching her body like a missile aimed at the Hardys’ foes. She stood out in an era where the high-flying style of wrestling was predominantly on display in the men’s mid-card.

Her Litasault is simultaneously majestic and effortless, both of which detract from the move’s potential peril. It was during filming for a TV show where Lita incurred a devastating neck injury.

Lita’s most brutal bump came three years later, when she took on Trish Stratus (Raw, 6 December 2004). During a suicide dive to the outside, Lita justified the move’s name. She recalled:

“I dove out and because Trish is much shorter than me, the trajectory has to go down. I did what we end up calling the ‘scorpion dive’ because my feet went over my head like a scorpion […] If you watch it back, I pop up like confused. I hear the crowd gasp and was like, ‘oh, ok. I think that might have looked bad”.

Lita not only continued the match but also captured the Women’s Championship.
