10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Crown Jewel 2021

6. Kofi Costs Xavier

Roman Reigns squashed

Not gonna lie, this writer was almost certain that WWE could pull the rug out from under Xavier Woods' run to the throne by having big bad Jinder beat him.

Thankfully, that didn't happen, but when Mahal nailed Woods with a Khallas, the world stopped breathing. Thankfully, Woods kicked out, we took a lungful of air and now Xavier Woods will meet Finn Balor in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament.

Let's be perfectly clear, Finn Balor doesn't need this tournament. He has multiple title reigns, including the first ever WWE Universal Championship win and he is seen as a big deal by the fan base. WWE may be looking to rebuild his credibility after his loss to Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules, but then they could have done that by not booking that absurd finish.

Woods has never won a singles accolade in WWE. Not one. Sure, he has had a Hall of Fame-worthy run with the New Day, but considering the multiple singles titles Kofi and Big E have won, this feels like Woods' time for the spotlight. He completely deserves it.

The worry here is that Kofi costs him the match, but by accident. The New Day are on record as saying they never want to split, but Kofi accidentally ruining Xavier's dream and thus teasing tension between them is the sort of story that Vince McMahon loves to tell.

Just do the sensible thing. Crown Xavier and have the New Day celebrate. To quote Batista:
