10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Extreme Rules 2021
2. The 'All-Mighty' Falls Too Soon
Big E becoming WWE Champion is great. Bobby Lashley losing the belt, not so much.
Ever since Lashley returned to the WWE, it felt like the WWE didn't know what to do with him. Whether he was talking about his sisters, cucking Rusev or displaying his butt to the delight of Lio Rush, the WWE never seemed to get it right.
But linking him up with MVP and forming The Hurt Business was the catalyst that finally turned big bad Bobby into a full-on main event talent. Presented as a dominant champion, Lashley has been the best thing about RAW for a while and while Big E getting his moment in the sun, it is sad to see the All-Mighty's all-conquering reign come to an end.
So what's next?
Judging from his devastating obliteration of everyone on RAW, including Roman Reigns, the WWE aren't done with Lashley as a main eventer. Despite that thrilling beatdown, he was still pinned in the main event.
Which is a worry heading into this Sunday. It's not inconceivable, especially with the lacklustre card, that WWE announces on Twitter that Lashley's rematch is this weekend. There is no way Big E is dropping the belt so soon, so what next for Lashley? Losing his rematch will leave him directionless and massively diminish his aura.
