10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE Payback 2020
9. A Potentially Underwhelming Card
The problem with the lack of planning time ahead of Payback means that we could end up with a pretty lacklustre card.
Sure, you might think that this is a bit of a premature assumption to make - especially when the matches themselves could end up better than they look on paper - but, to be completely honest, the announced matches thus far aren't particularly inspiring.
We'll go into some of the more specific match issues a little bit later on, but the card is underwhelming to say the least. Pitting Keith Lee against a currently brilliant Randy Orton doesn't make any sense when the latter hasn't left the title picture and neither man can really afford a loss right now (and, y'know, Lee's main roster career kinda depends on this match). Moreover, Roman Reigns walking into the Universal Title picture a week after his return doesn't make any sense either.
All of this just makes the event feel as thrown-together-at-the-last-minute as it actually is. Not a good sign for the remainder of the yet-to-be-announced matches now, is it?
