10 Big Concerns Heading Into WWE WrestleMania Backlash

7. It Goes Over Three Hours

Of the sixteen pay-per-views WWE have held since the onset of the global b*stard last spring, the majority of them have gone under three hours in length, not including pre-shows.

To break that down further, the top three longest pay-per-views of this period were the Royal Rumble (for obvious reasons) and both nights of this year's WrestleMania (the only shows with an actual audience, remember). The Rumble clocked in at close to four hours simply because it featured two near-hour-long bouts, while both 'Mania nights came just over three hours apiece.

There's absolutely no reason as to why WrestleMania Backlash needs to go over three hours in length. At present, there are only six matches scheduled; a full run-time of just over two hours should suffice.

Last year's infamous Backlash show stretched just 38 seconds over the three-hour mark, with a third of that time being spent on Edge and Randy Orton's so-called Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. As good as it was in some places, it had no right being that long.

Looking at the card that's in place for this year's offering, there aren't really any matches that need to go longer than 25 minutes. We certainly don't need 25 minutes of Braun Strowman p*ssing about, that's for certain.
