10 Big Improvements AEW MUST Make Before All Out

3. Reconfigure The Women's Division

AEW's launch press conference saw The Elite make several huge promises re: women's wrestling, the most notable of which was Brandi Rhodes suggesting equality of pay. If Britt Baker gets over to Kenny Omega's level, Britt Baker will be paid Kenny Omega money. That sounded great at the time, as did the promotion's apparent dedication towards promoting the division on an equal footing to the company's men.

This hasn't happened so far.

Some of AEW's six women's matches have delivered between the ropes, but only Allie vs. Brandi Rhodes (an AEW executive) has benefitted from any kind of build. The rest have felt thrown-together and haphazard. This lack of care, coupled with the poolside photoshoot published before Double Or Nothing in May, suggests that All Elite, in the interim, are having difficulty keeping up with WWE and their flagging Women's Revolution.

A problem like this must be addressed. There's no excuse for a women's division that isn't elite in 2019, and it's disappointing that the promotion haven't been able to do more with the likes of Baker, Kylie Rae, and their talented josh contingent, despite the odd moment of excellence from Awesome Kong and Nyla Rose.
