10 Big Problems WWE Creative Must Overcome In 2016

3. Getting The Company Away From A Reliance On Old Stars

A tactic for WWE creative in 2015 was to simply plug holes in the roster with old timer stars. Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker were drafted in over the summer to add value, while other veterans like The Dudley Boyz were brought in to fill spots on Raw. Even Tommy Dreamer (age 44 and physically worn out) is back on Monday nights. Granted, this sort of booking pops some interest, after all, these characters are well remembered from WWE's creative peak. However, the reliance on them is counter-productive to the making of new stars. The best way creative can get new people over, is to put them in spots like the SummerSlam main event. But instead that goes to Lesnar and Taker, who then weren't even around for another two months afterwards. Old stars should be utilised, but as long as WWE keeps presenting them as the main course, the audience will continue to take a diminished view of the full time stars.
