10 Big Problems WWE Creative Must Overcome In 2016
4. Satisfying Both The IWC And The Casual Audience
WWE's creative efforts are problematic in that they are constantly having to cater towards two very different audiences. One section of fans might love one thing, while the other section will loath it. If the creative team could just get a narrative or character that all fans could get behind, then it would be much more beneficial to all involved. The Internet Wrestling Community is of course the vocal minority, the small section of fans who use the internet to make their criticism loud. In contrast, the majority casual fanbase, tends to just enjoy WWE for what it is. Typically, the casuals flock behind John Cena, while the IWC will get behind a CM Punk or Seth Rollins type. One wrestler who did unite the audience was Daniel Bryan. Creative must come up with a character and story that can repeat that success. It is easier said than done, but it has to be a priority in 2016.
