Few wrestlers have been booked stronger than Braun Strowman since the 2016 draft. While many assumed Braun would flounder without the Wyatt Family, WWE’s new monster has prospered. Strowman is much improved from his clumsy early days, and has developed into a highly convincing big man between the ropes. We’re yet to see how he’ll fend in longer, more competitive singles matches, but his recent work has been excellent, particularly with Sami Zayn as his foil.

Strowman has been presented as a main event level force since going toe-to-toe with SmackDown’s biggest stars at Survivor Series. Where his Raw activities were once restricted to squashing local enhancement talents, Strowman is now mixing it up with the likes of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. More significantly, Braun had a big face-to-face showdown with Brock Lesnar on this week’s Raw, one week after a teased interaction between him and The Undertaker.

These small moments suggest big things are on Braun Strowman’s horizon, and we’ll learn more about his position in the hierarchy at the Royal Rumble. Eliminating Taker or Lesnar would be a huge statement, and a potential passing of the torch from one monster to another. Braun should be considered a huge favourite to notch the most eliminations in this year’s match, and if his future is as rosy as has been suggested in recent weeks, he’ll soon be in the Universal Title hunt.
