10 Big Questions Coming From WWE Royal Rumble 2015

9. Is Brock Lesnar Still Leaving The WWE?

Heading into the Royal Rumble, the big insider tip was that Lesnar would be dropping the title at the Rumble and leaving WWE after WrestleMania 31. The UFC have been courting their former star draw and UFC President Dana White has continued to stoke speculation. However, at the Rumble, WWE booked Brock very strongly. He no sold big moves and delivered devastating attacks to John Cena and Seth Rollins. He retained the WWE Title in convincing fashion and is now primed to headline WrestleMania 31 against Roman Reigns. Would WWE really invest that level of prestige in Lesnar if he was heading out the door? Traditional logic says probably not. But then again, in this current WWE, you never really know. It wouldn't be at all surprising if Lesnar was still headed for the exit and they've simply decided to push him hard right up until the end. There's definitely value to get out of him as WWE Champion at Mania, even if it is obvious that he's simply there to make the next big star. What's a little puzzling is why WWE hot-shotted Lesnar into being a babyface on Raw last week. Now he's going against Reigns, the man who is meant to be a babyface but is being received as a default heel. The character dynamics clearly don't work, which might necessitate yet a further twist in the tale. However, it will likely remain that Lesnar is headed for the exit. It isn't just that the UFC want him back, it is also that WWE are cutting costs. All involved will be satisfied in parting ways after WrestleMania. The continued strong booking is just a way of extracting full value.
