There's a strange contradiction at the heart of Seth Rollins' gimmick; he wrestles like a babyface, but is booked like a heel. Despite coming across as incredibly capable in the ring, he constantly flees from harm, or takes inexplicable losses - especially since becoming WWE Champion. This Monday saw perhaps the first step in legitimising Seth as a true champ - a showdown with Shawn Michaels. For a while now, Rollins has been compared to HBK for his in-ring fluidity and energy, a comparison which both men directly alluded to during their stand-off. On the other hand, it could be argued that this encounter made Rollins look as weak as ever. Michaels derided him for attempting to be "HBK version. 2", and when Rollins tried yelled for his music to be played, it wasn't. Authority figures aside, the WWE Champion should always hold the most (kayfabe) sway; this tiny incident may seem innocuous, but it made Seth look very undervalued.
