10 Big Talking Points From WWE Fastlane 2017

3. Sasha Banks’ Interference

Sticking with that same match, there was one more glaringly obvious talking point to come from the women’s title bout—the interference of Sasha Banks.

Having made a big deal of Dana Brooke remaining in the back, it was Bayley—the face—who saw her friend come out to ringside and ultimately affect the result of the match. Now, in Bayley’s defence, she initially seemed unaware of Banks’ involvement, but even so, it’s a finish that hardly paints her in a favourable light.

And on top of that, once Banks had made her arrival at ringside, this felt like the perfect moment to pull the trigger on a dastardly heel turn in which she’d cost her friend the title, preserve Charlotte’s unbeaten streak, and set-up a WrestleMania showdown between Banks and her former buddy Bayley.

Not that any of that happened, though. Instead, we now find ourselves in the unusual position of cheering a babyface who once again won via nefarious means, and while that opens up possibilities for the women’s scene moving forward, it didn’t do too many favours for the Fastlane PPV itself.
