10 Big Talking Points From WWE Survivor Series 2017
3. Braun Strowman Stands Tall
Still, if there was one positive to be taken from the debacle that was the conclusion to the main event, it’s that the outcome at least made Braun Strowman look strong.
During the match, Strowman looked like an absolute monster. He helped himself to three eliminations, including Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode and Randy Orton, and it took a five-man table spot to keep him at bay from there on in. And even though he didn’t have a hand in the decisive pinfall, he did have Triple H cowering at his mercy in the post-match angle, before a pair of Powerslams laid out the Game and left Strowman as the last man standing.
Though the main event could’ve been viewed as a failure in a variety of ways, it was at least successful in reiterating Strowman’s standing as the next big thing.
Although, if this was all just a means by which to engineer a Triple H vs Strowman showdown somewhere down the line, that may not necessarily be the most worthwhile of outcomes…
