10 Big TNA Signings That Were Completely Wasted

8. Matt Morgan

Matt Morgan had a pretty lengthy TNA career (2007 to 2013), it just wasn’t that good of one.

After leaving WWE, he seemed to have visited a speech therapist and lost his stuttering issue, but then started talked really fast and yelled a lot in TNA. If someone had told him to “slow down” that likely would have helped him get over a bit more.

Morgan had a lot of potential in TNA, but they took forever to do anything with him. For awhile, he was far-and-away the the most athletic big man in the business, able to run circles around Kane, Undertaker, The Great Khali, The Big Show and Kevin Nash. While Taker was the best worker of that group, Morgan could have developed into quite the powerhouse with the right push.

Instead, he was presented as a mid-carder for most of his run, and was essentially the "Blueprint" of a guy who could be pinned quite easily.

He basically received one big push during his time there, where he went head-to-head against Kurt Angle at Bound for Glory 2009. The fans were finally getting behind Morgan, and it seemed the perfect time to pull the trigger on that big push by giving him the win. TNA felt otherwise. Angle won, and the following month Morgan was booked in a meaningless six-man tag at the next pay-per-view. He never recovered.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
