10 Big TNA Signings That Were Completely Wasted

DDP’s run in WWE is pretty universally recognized as one of the most embarrassing pushes of a big star over the past couple of decades in wrestling. To top things off, he was badly injured in a match against Bob Holly on SmackDown and was forced into retirement.

However, a few years later, he put the boots on once again to try and help out his old friend Dusty Rhodes (who was booking TNA at the time) to attempt and take the company to the next level. What were the companies plans for him? First he re-lived a WCW feud from six years earlier with Raven, and then he moved onto Jeff Jarrett (of course).

Missing in all that was Page wrestling someone like A.J. Styles and putting them over, just like Randy Savage did for him in their feud. You can’t really blame the King of Bada Bing as he was just wrestling who he was told, but the company wasted a feel-good return story and then didn’t bother giving him big singles matches with the wrestlers that needed it.

Luckily he has his millions of dollars from his DDP Yoga company to fall back on, otherwise this run may sting a bit more for him.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
