10 Big Turns WWE Must Make In 2017

8. Sheamus (Face)

Sheamus and Cesaro are finally finding their feet as a tag team, but their long-term direction remains in doubt. There’s no indication of when they’ll find the in-ring cohesion they’ve spent the past few months searching for, and despite their barfight bonding session the other week, they’re still building chemistry together. It’ll likely be awhile before the put all the pieces together, but they can’t do that until their current alignment issue is addressed.

Cesaro is currently playing babyface, while Sheamus is still acting heelish. They both flutter with shades of grey and drift into the opposite alignment from time-to-time, but if they’re to get on the same page, they must progress with the same motivations. There’s always a chance WWE will have them both go full heel, but Cesaro’s spectacular wrestling style means he’ll always struggle to draw boos, so the logical option is to have Sheamus turn instead.

Yes, Sheamus has been a lousy babyface in the past, but WWE can pull this off if they keep it simple. Take the Cesaro approach and emphasise the Irishman’s skill and hard-hitting, no-nonsense style above all else, and fans will quickly turn a corner on him. The two Europeans have great potential as Raw’s resident ass-kicking tag team, and it’s time to start tapping into that.
