10 Big Turns WWE Must Make In 2017

7. Seth Rollins (Heel)

Yes, Seth Rollins has only recently turned face, and yes, he’s getting solid crowd reactions, but The Architect is completely unbelievable in his current “good guy” role.

Rollins is a naturally smarmy character, and he just doesn’t seem comfortable when trying to play a sympathetic foil to Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho. He’s done very little to make himself likeable throughout his face run, and is still coasting on the goodwill and sympathy gained during his long injury absence. Seth still talks, emotes, and acts like a jerk despite his turn, and that’s an issue.

It looks certain that Rollins will face Triple H at WrestleMania. Thus, WWE will have to persist with him as a babyface until April at the earliest, but if he’s unable to find his feet as a good guy by then, they should think about turning him back. He’ll likely never be as affable as Finn Balor, and as a result, he’ll never be Raw’s top babyface.

Seth seemed tailor-made for a babyface comeback after reappearing at Extreme Rules. The WWE 24 special on the Network painted him in an incredibly sympathetic light, but the turn just hasn’t worked-out thus far. Owens and Jericho, Raw’s two biggest heels, are regularly more amusing and entertaining than Rollins, and pairing him with the eternally divisive Roman Reigns didn’t help either. It is becoming abundantly clear that he’s not built to play the face role we’d hoped for earlier in the year.
