10 Big WWE Predictions For The Road To WrestleMania 33
3. Best Friends Explode
Kevin Owens’ reinvention as a cowardly champion hasn’t done much for the Universal Title, but him and Chris Jericho are fantastic together. Their chemistry is outstanding, and fans are always guaranteed a fun segment whenever they’re on the microphone. Sure, the constant interferences are getting a little old, but WWE haven’t had this strong a double-act in years, and their eventual break-up will be a sad moment.
Unfortunately for Jeri-KO fans, their explosion is right around the corner. Goldberg successfully goaded Jericho into accepting a Universal Title challenge on Owens' behalf last night, and KO isn't best pleased about it. It's starting to feel like the beginning of the end for the popular duo, and while Jericho has organised a "Festival Of Friendship" to smooth things over next week, it's likely too little, too late.
The break-up should come at Fastlane, especially if KO loses. Jericho inadvertently costing Owens the belt would be a sweet dose of karma for their months of shenanigans, and would serve as the perfect catalyst for a full-on split. From there, Owens and Jericho can build their rivalry over the remaining weeks, eventually culminating in a United States Title match in Orlando, which could be Jericho’s last match before his next hiatus.
