10 Big WWE Predictions For The Road To WrestleMania 37
1. Drew Drops The Gold
The WWE Championship picture is cloudy ahead of WrestleMania 37.
With Edge reportedly set to challenge Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre booked to face five potential Show of Shows contenders at Elimination Chamber 2021, options are slim. Bringing Brock Lesnar or Goldberg back would go down like a turd in a punch bowl. Hot-shotting a younger, less established wrestler would excite certain fans, but such short-notice elevation into a World Title scene wouldn't be 'Mania-like. Braun Strowman's moaning at Adam Pearce makes him an option, though a smaller pay-per-view seems likelier for him.
As things stand, with almost two months of television to go, Drew dropping the strap inside the Elimination Chamber then coming back for it at WM37 is about the only thing that makes sense. Sheamus might be the guy. He's entering the Chamber last and his built-in history with Drew is the basis of a good story, with WWE framing McIntyre's 'Mania win as him finally getting his big moment in front of a live crowd.
Breaking McIntyre's acclaimed title run for Sheamus brings its own downsides, but COVID-19 robbed him of his big pop at 'Mania 36. Perhaps WWE will attempt to atone for that.
