3. The Fans Can't Be Worked
Most of the year, WWE draws a family / mainstream crowd who are happy to go along with the storylines on show. However, in WrestleMania season, a smart crowd becomes more prominent. Both on social media and in the bleachers, WWE's product receives far more scrutiny. In past 'Mania seasons, this vocal fan scrutiny has been a huge problem for WWE. It ruined company plans to make Batista the man in 2014, in turn costing them the chance to do a lucrative tie-in with Guardians Of The Galaxy and the WWE Champion. A year after that, the fans ruined WWE's Roman Reigns plan. There's a big problem in which Vince McMahon just can't work his audience like he used to, fans just aren't going to go along with the franchise stars any more. The problem of course explodes in 'Mania season, as this is the time when the franchises are pushed the hardest.
