10 Big WWE Returns That Could Happen In 2019

5. Chris Jericho

The Rock WrestleMania 35
NJPW

Pulling Chris Jericho away from his freelance freedom is going to be difficult, and if your writer was ‘Y2J,’ he’d probably tell Vince McMahon to take a running jump.

Short of offering him an amount of money equivalent to a small island nation’s GDP, there’s no real reason for Jericho to jump back into the WWE machine… but who knows? WWE are loaded as hell, especially after the Saudi deal, so it could conceivably happen.

Jericho would be giving up a lot. He’s currently the hottest free agent commodity in the sport, and a guy with immense buzz for his work in New Japan and elsewhere. Regardless, WWE is still WWE, and his status with that company almost guarantees he’d be used correctly if they did want to bring him back. It’s not as far-fetched as it seems on first glance.

As far as potential roles go, it’s hard to imagine him committing to a full-time road schedule. He’d most likely become a part-timer hopping in and out of the promotion at opportune moments, and he’d be a great tool for putting up-and-coming talent over.
