On Episode 6 of the excellent NWA Powerrr, Aron Stevens angrily announced that not only was he done with the organisation, but that he was done with professional wrestling for good. Taking him at his word, it seems pretty unlikely he'll be appearing in WWE any time soon, having slung his boots on their hook.

Obviously, Stevens' impassioned promo was for show, and he (probably) isn't going anywhere just yet. But his verbal tirade is an example of the sort of stellar mic work the former Damien Sandow is still capable of commanding, even in the constrained environs of the pseudo '80s. He might not be in the best ring shape in 2019 - not that that matters on Power(rr) - but Stevens has never been more relevant since leaving WWE three years back than now.

The superbly popular Sandow was utterly wasted at the tail-end of his Miz impersonations prior to his sudden release back in 2016. Steven's NWA exploits are a reminder of what WWE squandered - and with Stamford packed to the gills with workrate already, a mic-man who can actually connect with an audience might just be what they require.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
